Parents’ and carers’ experience of caring for a child with avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID)

Who can take part?

Participants must be above the age of 18 and have a child aged under 11 years who has been diagnosed with ARFID. They should have access to technology that enables them to participate in an online interview via Microsoft Teams.

What is the purpose of the research?

This study aims to gain a better understanding of the experiences of parent’s or caregiver’s that have a child diagnosed with an eating disorder, specifically avoidant /restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID).

What does the study involve?

Participants will be asked to take part in a one-to-one interview lasting around 90 minutes, the findings will be transcribed and analysed in accordance with the IPA process defined by Smith et al. (2009).
