We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been awarded £489,980, thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund. We've estimated that the new funding will allow 30,000 people to benefit from our services, helping us in our mission to end the pain and devastation caused by eating disorders.
The funding will aid us in continuing to provide services including our Helpline, webchat and email support service, our online groups and online peer support platform, and to continue to provide resources on eating disorders via our website.
Beat’s Director of Fundraising, Justine Black, said:
‘Eating disorders don’t just affect the person who’s unwell – they can have a huge impact on someone's family, carers and loved ones alike. The past few years have been extremely challenging for our community: demand for help has soared and competition for funds is fierce, but this vital funding will allow us to continue to provide help for anyone who needs it.
‘We’re delighted that The National Lottery Community Fund have chosen us as one of their charities and we’re dedicated to supporting anyone affected in Norfolk, and throughout the UK, wherever we can.’
About the National Lottery Community Fund
The National Lottery Community Fund distributes money raised by National Lottery players for good causes and is the largest community funder in the UK.
It recently launched its strategy, ‘It starts with community’, which will underpin its efforts to distribute at least £4 billion of National Lottery funding by 2030.
As part of this, the funder has four key missions, which are to support communities to come together, be environmentally sustainable, help children and young people thrive and enable people to live healthier lives.
National Lottery players raise over £30 million a week for good causes across the UK. Thanks to them, last year (2023/24) The National Lottery Community Fund awarded over half a billion pounds (£686.3 million) of life-changing funding to communities across the UK, supporting over 13,700 projects to turn their great ideas into reality.
