Host a movie night!

Host a movie night!

A movie night is a super easy fundraiser, and a great way to watch your favourite film with your nearest and dearest, in the comfort of your own home.

Here's everything you need to know to plan the perfect movie night in!

Your step-by-step guide to an amazing movie night!

1) Download your movie night tickets!

Get prepared by downloading your movie night tickets, ready to add all the details for the evening and sell to your friends and family for a small donation (we recommend £5 per ticket). You can download your Beat Movie Night ticket below: either print at home, or edit a digital version!

2) Choose your film

Maybe you're in the mood for a RomCom? Or is it the perfect night for a horror film?! How about an entire series...! Why not ask your friends and family for their favourite film or genre and pull it out of a hat? Once you have chosen your film, go ahead and add this to your invitation so that everyone knows what's on the agenda.

If you need some inspiration for a film to choose, the Beat Fundraising Team have collated their favourite films for you to try!

Linsey (Head of Public Fundraising) - Overboard

Rebecca (Community & Events Fundraising Manager) - The Lord of the Rings trilogy

Charlotte (Community Fundraising Officer) - The Greatest Showman

Claire (Community Fundraising Officer) - Insidious

Ed (Community Fundraising Officer) - The Addams Family (1991)

Emily (Community Fundraising Officer) - A Star Is Born

Sandie (Fundraising Assistant) - Notting Hill

Jess (Individual Giving Lead) - Bridget Jones's Diary

Jessie (Fundraising Administration Officer) - Moonstruck

Beth (Fundraising Administration Assistant) - Twilight

Michael (Office Volunteer) - Once Upon a Time in the West

3) Select a date and time

Find the perfect date and time to host your movie night. We love a Friday night movie marathon here at Beat! Once you've decided, don't forget to add the details to your movie night ticket.

4) Distribute your tickets!

Now that you've ironed out the details, it's time to sell your tickets! Decide who you are inviting, then either hand out your print-at-home tickets in person, or send your digital tickets via text or social media.

The easiest way to collect the payment for the tickets is to set up a JustGiving page, and ask your attendees to donate the cost of their ticket to your page!

5) Finishing touches

As the day approaches, think about what you need to purchase or borrow for the evening to make it the perfect night in. Make sure to also get enough chairs, cushions, or duvets for all of your friends and family!

6) Enjoy!

The day has arrived! Turn off your phones, get comfy, and have the most amazing time. Why not set aside some time after to discuss what you all thought about the film?
