Fundraising FAQs

FAQs

How do I get started?

Thank you for choosing to support Beat! First, decide how you would like to fundraise. You can organise your own event, sign up for one of our most popular events, or sign up for a different event.

When you’ve chosen your event, it’s time to start fundraising here. Using Just Giving is the easiest way for friends and family to donate, and all your donations, plus Gift Aid, will automatically be transferred to Beat.

How will my fundraising help?

Your fundraising will help towards our vision to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. Your donations will help to fund our services including our Helplines and online support groups.

Can I fundraise for Beat through an event that’s not on your website?

Yes! You can fundraise any way of your choice, whether you organise your own event or take part in one that’s already set up. Then you can start fundraising through Just Giving.

Why do some events have a set fundraising target?

Beat purchases places in our most popular events so that we can guarantee entries even after general entries sell out. We need to ensure that anyone using these places raises enough to cover the cost and support our work. We ask applicants to agree to this before accepting a place, and support everyone to raise as much as possible.

What’s the difference between a general entry and a charity entry?

You can buy a general entry from an event organiser’s website and choose to fundraise for Beat. There is no minimum fundraising target for these places, but our team will help you to raise as much as possible.

You can apply for a charity entry for events through Beat’s website. If your application is successful, we would ask you to reach a minimum fundraising target by a set deadline, usually four weeks after the event takes place.

How can Beat support my fundraising?

Our fundraising team are here to help you raise as much as possible. We would love to discuss your fundraising plans and give you advice and encouragement to reach your fundraising target. We can also provide materials, and help with promoting your fundraising in your local area.

What logo should I use?

If you are fundraising for Beat and would like to use our logo, please use the In Support of Beat logo which can be downloaded from our resources webpage

What is Gift Aid?
