What to expect

The training will be delivered over four days in a hybrid format (2 days online, 2 days in person).

This 4-day in depth training on eating disorders is designed to widen knowledge and skills required to provide optimal evidence-based treatment for children and young people (CYP) with eating disorders (ED).

This training is funded by Health Education England and delivered through CNWL NHS Foundation Trust.

This training is free to participants

Participants must attend all four days. No online option is available for days 2 & 3 as these contain interactive sessions in small groups focused on team approaches to assessment, care planning and treatment.

Learning will happen:

• Individually (including lectures, reading recommended papers, completing self-evaluation of progress)
• Within and across teams or groups (sharing experiences of team development, discussing problems teams have had to address e.g., in relation to commissioning, implementing self-referral systems, etc.)
• Training will be provided by leading experts in the field, through a series of didactic and facilitated interactive discussions and practical workshops. Course materials and interaction with tutors and peers will be available through the dedicated training website. Practical skills development will be achieved through group problem-solving exercises around physical/medical risk, and activities exploring, for example, obstacles to routine outcome measurement in the service, and team beliefs about treatment and the process of change.
